Corners
Front and back corners are inspected for wear, swelling, softness and other defects.
Edges
Edges are examined on both sides for chipping, whitening, curl and severity of damage.
Surface
Front and back surfaces are inspected for print, handling and condition defects.
Numeric grades are whole numbers.
For Grade & Encapsulate submissions, cards calculated below Grade 3 normally receive NG (No Grade) on the label while the calculated result is retained internally. SSC may display Grade 1 or 2 when a significant/value card warrants preserving the numerical grade. Customers may also choose Encapsulate Only — No Grade for $5; no grading formula is run.
